(Grove City, OH) – Visit Grove City received recognition for achievement in marketing and advertising at two major industry programs this year. Five (5) awards were accepted at Ohio Travel Association’s RUBY Awards presentation, held Sept. 26 in Sandusky, Ohio. On Dec. 20, in Columbus, Ohio six (6) STAR Awards were presented to Visit Grove City from the Ohio Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus.

Awards were received for the following items:

• Visitors Guide – 1st Place RUBY Award and 1st Place STAR Award
• Altogether Adventure Video – 1st Place RUBY Award and 1st Place STAR Award
• Blog – Certificate of Achievement for RUBY and 2nd Place STAR Award
• Print Advertisement “Adrenaline Adventure” – Certificate of Achievement RUBY and 1st Place STAR Award
• Social Media Campaign – Certificate of Achievement RUBY
• Creative Marketing Strategies – 2nd Place STAR Award
• Marketing Campaign – Wine and Arts – 1st Place STAR Award

The Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance Yearly (RUBY) Awards recognize excellence in Ohio’s travel industry for efforts in advertising, marketing and public relations. The awards, sponsored by Ohio Magazine, were presented during the Ohio Conference on Travel held at Cedar Point.

The Ohio Travel Association is the non-profit association representing attractions, destination marketing organizations, hotels, museums, suppliers, restaurants, campgrounds and other businesses who make up Ohio’s $44 billion travel industry.

The State Tourism Achievement Recognition (STAR) Awards honor outstanding efforts by Ohio Convention & Visitor Bureaus in their work to market and promote their area destinations and to generate overall awareness of the tourism industry. Recipients are honored for their innovation, creativity, effectiveness and impact in travel and tourism marketing and advertising.

Ohio Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus is a resource for destination marketing organizations in Ohio to maximize the economic impact of tourism via effective communication, cooperative marketing, industry education, legislative awareness, issues management, trend identification and professional development.
