Winter often means lots of time spent indoors, which can bring about cabin fever. Get moving and have a blast with these 6 outdoor winter activities in Grove City:

1. Sledding

You can’t beat the family favorite winter activity–sledding! The most popular sledding hills in the Grove City area can be found at Fryer Park, Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, and Scioto Grove Metro Park. Public restrooms are nearby at all three of those locations.

2. Cross-country skiing/Snowshoeing

Break out those skiis or snowshoes and hit the trails for a great workout. The 3.2-mile Dyer Mill Trail at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park is reserved for use as a cross-country ski trail when conditions are suitable.

3. Hiking/Trail Running

Hiking or trail running can be a great way to experience the magical beauty of winter. Check out Scioto Grove Metro Park or Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park for some of the best trails and the best views in Central Ohio. Just watch your step!

4. Ice Skating

When the temperatures have been especially low for several days, that makes for the perfect conditions for ice skating! There is a 16-in deep skating pond at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, located at 3711 Gardner Road, Georgesville OH 43123.

5. Birding

Winter is a great time to spot some hard-to-find bird species. The lack of foliage makes for better visibility. Try out your birding eye at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, Scioto Grove Metro Park, or Fryer Park.

6. Playing Paintball

LVL UP Sports is one of the only paintball parks in Ohio that is open year-round. On those not-so-frigid winter days, head to this outdoor paintball adventure park for a fun time!
